The description section says Julia Ann is wearing a 2XL but then when someone asked what size she is wearing in a question below, it was answered that Julia Ann is wearing an XL in this dress. Now I am confused and don't know which size to choose as I want the size she is wearing because it looks like it would fit me best. Can you please answer which is correct?

Is the 44" measured length from shoulder to bottom. I am a shorty (5' tall). Though I could wear it as a maxi, depending on where it would hit me.
